Treatments and Procedure
The frequency of treatments will depend on number, color, depth, and size of the vessels that need to be treated, but most patients experience desired results after one or two treatments. The procedure causes little discomfort and requires no anesthetic. As the pulsation of laser energy is delivered by the handpiece along the length of each vessel, patients often experience a mild burning or stinging sensation which quickly fades after the procedure.
Recovery
Spider veins can be treated quickly without bruising or complications. Occasionally, redness or slight swelling may occur but will fade within 24 hours. Patients are usually advised to avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours following a procedure and to protect the treated areas by avoiding direct sunlight and using sunscreen, but otherwise, most patients can resume normal activities immediately following a procedure.
Results
