Radiesse

RADIESSE is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. RADIESSE is injected through a small needle and placed under the skin. Immediately, this filler works to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits of RADIESSE continue by stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting.

Specific treatments

Radiesse is especially for those who wish to increase volume in their facial skin and smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. Treatments are especially helpful in the following places:

  • Nasolabial folds, which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth
  • Marionette lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Pre-jowl fold, where skin can sag on either side of the chin
  • Chin wrinkles

Treatments and Procedure
With the application of a local anesthetic, the Radiesse treatment causes little discomfort, and the procedure is fast, usually lasting well under an hour. During the procedure, the physician will clean the area to be treated, apply anesthetic, and then inject the thin gel under the skin in the predetermined treatment locations.

Recovery

Most of the time, patients can resume normal, daily activities immediately after a procedure, although avoidance of makeup and minimized sun exposure are recommended for 24 hours following treatment. Also, some patients may experience mild bruising, redness, swelling, or pain, but these effects fade within a few days.

Results

Visible evidence of restored volume and smoothed skin are immediate upon injection of Radiesse, and observed improvements will continue to appear for a few days. The results are natural-looking and may last for a year or more, after which time, further treatments can help maintain optimal results.
