Restylane

Restylane is an injectable dermal filler that is designed to improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. As a hyaluronic acid filler, Restylane is formulated to simulate the body’s naturally produced hyaluronic acid, which helps keep the skin plump, elastic, and hydrated. Restylane treatments can help resist the visible signs of aging and result in a younger-looking, vibrant appearance. Restylane® Refyne & Restylane® Defyne, two hyaluronic acid gel fillers for laugh lines (nasolabial folds & marionette lines) made with XpresHAn Technology™ helps maintain natural expression in motion. Specific treatments
Restylane is for anyone over 21 years old who wants to improve medium-depth facial wrinkles and restore a smooth and young-looking appearance. Some the specific areas of treatment are as follows:
  • Nasolabial folds, or the lines that connect the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth
  • Marionette lines running from the corners of the mouth down toward the jawline
  • Lips and corners of the mouth to enhance definition and add fullness
Treatments and Procedure
A Restylane treatment usually begins with a cleansing of the treated area and the application of a local anesthetic to prevent any discomfort during the procedure. The procedure itself is generally 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the specific treatment, and involves injection of the medication with an ultrafine needle.

Typically, initial treatments will require one or two sessions. To maintain optimal results, patients often follow maintenance plans, which vary depending on a patient’s specific needs

Recovery
After a Restylane treatment, patients may experience mild side effects like swelling, redness, or bruising that normally disappear within a week (or two weeks in lip treatments).

Results
Results vary according to body chemistry and desired goals, but they are typically visible almost immediately following a Restylane injection. Patients who receive a follow up treatment 4 to 9 months after an initial treatment usually see their results last up to 18 months.
