I have been going to Dr. Michael Jacobs since I’ve been in my 20s (I’m now in my 50s). Skin cancer runs in my family, Dr. Jacobs has made sure that I’m consistently getting my body checked, and in fact, saved my life a few years back and found melanoma (a pin spot on my shin) during one of my checkups. Because of his reputation, everyone—from students to waitresses to journalists and celebrities—go to him because frankly, cancer knows no economic boundary. I’ve read some of the comments below, and I have never seen anyone get special treatment because of their economic background or employment record or any drama with the staff. Because Dr. Jacobs is world renowned, people come from all walks of life to see him, and if the waiting room is full, I still know that when it’s my turn there will be a team of experts around me with Dr. Jacobs at the helm, taking the time needed to give me a full body screening. As far as other skin issues, I’ve had pimples, rashes, infections and Dr. Jacobs has treated these issues as seriously as his cancer screenings. In this day and age, where skin cancer is as common as the cold, I would run, not walk to see this specialist.
